Carl Amann

Biography

Born 4 December 1908 in Ulm. After apprenticing as a lithographic printer, he studied at the Stuttgart Kunstgewerbeschule: a teacher was F.H. Ernst Schneidler; later studied at the Städt. Kunstwerkstätten, Ulm, and at the Munich Hochschule für Bildende Künste under Karl Caspar . Travelled in Italy and Switzerland. 1933: living in Ulm. 1946: freelance. Died 5 February 1971 in Karl-Marx-Stadt (Chemnitz).
