Eliyahu Korén

Biography

Jewish. Born Eliahu Korngold 1909 in Nuremberg Trained in Germany. Early 1930s: emigrated to Palestine; he designed the ‘Korén’ Hebrew type, the first Israeli stamp, and the logo for the city of Jerusalem. The Korén Bible was issued in an edition for bibliophiles 1959-62.
