Franz Hottenroth

Biography

Book designer. Born 1897 in Höxter. 1919: worked at government printing office, Berlin. 1925: moved to Frankfurt a.M. and took evening classes under Rudolf Koch, Paul Renner and Hans Leistikov. 1927-9: taught lettering at the Bildungsverein der Deutschen Buchdrucker, Berlin. 1929: moved to Munich where he designed books for the printer F. Bruckmann. 1949: co-founder of Typographische Gesellschaft, Munich. Died 4 July 1982 in Munich.
