Franz K. Delavilla

Biography

Born 6 December 1884 in Vienna, where he later studied. 1908: taught at the Magdeburg Kunstgewerbeschule. 1909-13: taught at the Hamburg Kunstgewerbeschule. 1913: head of the commercial art department, Städel-Schule, Frankfurt a.M.; during this period he created many set designs. 1914: awarded gold medal at Bugra exposition for his work on books. By 1952: worked mainly on his paintings. Founder and chairman of the BDG, Rhein-Main group. Died 1967.
