Biography

Book covers, trademarks, advertising artist, photography. Born 1904 in Hannover. 1926-9: studied at the Kunstgewerbeschule, Berlin. 1928-30: studied at the Johannes Itten school, Berlin. 1931: worked in the studio of Herbert Bayer. 1932: founded design studio with Hedwig BornemannBy 1960 he had a reputation as a distinguished photographer. 1960: awarded the Kulturpreis der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Photographie; living in Hofgeismar.
