Fritz Bühler

Biography

Posters, exhibition display. Swiss. Born 24 June 1909 in Basle. Studied at the Basle Gewerbeschule, then, 1929-30, at the Vereinigte Staatsschulen für freie und angewandte Kunst, Berlin: a teacher was O.H.W. Hadank. 1930-33: worked in the advertising agency ‘Agency’. 1933: returned to Basle, from where he freelanced, particularly on exhibition design. Bühler was one of the founders of the Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI) of which he was president from 1960 for two terms. Died in an accident on 12 April 1963 in Colmar.
