Gerhard C. Schulz

Biography

Publicity, trademarks, posters. Born 1 February 1911 in Halle, Saale. Studied at the Berlin Kunstgewerbeschule. From 1933: freelance. By 1939 he had a studio in Berlin with Kurt Prien; they produced publicity for pharmaceutical companies. Schulz was the photographer. 1942-5: military service. 1946-7: taught commercial art at the Berlin Fachschule für Graphik und Buchgewerbe. From 1951: lived in Hamburg.
