Biography
Born 1914 in Mannheim. Studied at the Freie Akademie and Kunstgewerbeschule, Mannheim, then at the Leipzig Akademie für Graphische Kunst und Buchgewerbe: his teachers included Georg Belwe and Walter Tiemann. He later taught lettering, typesetting and printing at the Mannheim Werkkunstschule (now the Staatlich anerkannte Fachhochschule für Gestaltung).
