Biography

Type designs, publicity. Born 12 July 1916 in Danzig. 1932: studied at the Danzig Kunstgewerbeschule: a teacher was Willy Meyer. 1933-7: lithographic student. 1937-41: at Offenbach a.M. Kunstgewerbeschule where he studied in the Schrift- und Lithographenklasse, and taught these subjects there 1942-44. Since then occasional designer for the typefoundry Gebr. Klingspor, for which he designed the typefaces Romann-Antiqua, 1950; Variante, 1951; Roulette, 1953; Constanze and Queen, 1954; Lichte-Antiqua, 1956. Died 11 November 1996 in Kronberg.
