Biography

Posters. Born 23 September 1895 in Ronneburg, Sa./Altenburg. Studied at the Weimar Hochschule für bildende Kunst: a teacher was Walther Klemm. 1921-5: work published in the journal Der Sturm. 1928-33: member of the art group Die Abstrakten (later: Die Zeitgemässen), representative of political and artistic radicalism. After 1933 he was forbidden to exhibit his work.
