Walther Lehner

Biography

Posters. Born 22 January 1894 in Elbing, West Prussia. Studied at the Vereinigte Staatschule für freie und angewandte Kunst (Union of National Colleges for Free and Applied Art), Berlin: teachers included Sütterlin and Kutschmann. Studied at the Berlin Kunstgewerbemuseum: teachers included Emil Orlik and E.R. Weiss. Later studied at the Munich Kunstgewerbeschule: his teachers included Adolf Schinnerer and Richard Riemerschmid. From 1935: head of the Akademie Zeicheninstitut, University of Tübingen. His work in ‘Deutsches Volk – Deutsche Arbeit’ exhibition, 1934.
