Willi Baus

Biography

Swiss. Born 16 December 1909 in St Gallen, Switzerland. 1928-30: studied in the arts and crafts department, St Gallen Technical College. 1930: Textile printing designer at Reichenbach & Co., St Gallen. 1931-2: attended winter semester at the Kunstgewerbeschule, Offenbach a.M. under Rudolf Koch. 1932-3: learned to carve in wood and stone at the studio of Wilhelm Meier. 1933: opened his own studio in St Gallen. 1939-75: taught at St Gallen Technical College. Died 9 October 1985 in St Gallen.
