Biography
Publicity, trademarks, posters. Born 1919 in Villingen i. Schwarzwald. Trained as compositor and printer in Berlin. 1936/7: trained under Fritz Kükenthal and at same time studied at Graphische Fachschule and the Textil- und Modeschule, Berlin, where his studies were ended by military service. His war service ended as a prisoner of war in France from which he was finally released in 1948. He then settled in Schwäbisch Gmünd where he freelanced. His clients eventually included industrial firms such as BASF (Badische Anilin- und Soda-Fabrik), Telefunken and Zeiss. During these postwar years he also designed exhibitions and took on commissions for interior decoration.
