Hans Wagner

Biography

Certificates, letterheads, type designs, murals. Born 1894 in Munich. First trained as a book printer, later studied drawing at the Kunstinstitut under Peter von Halm, with further study in painting at the Munich Akademie under Ludwig von Herterich . He later created prints, drawings and murals – one of the latter for the church at Ottering, Lower Bavaria, and another with von Herterich . 1937: living in Altenburg. Designer of the typefaces, all issued by Ludwig & Mayer: Altenburger-Gotisch (1928), Wolfram (1930), Welt-Antiqua (also spelled Weltantiqua , Welt- antiqua ; 1931).
