Walter W. Holz

Biography

Publicity, illustration, book jackets. Born 1900 in Bavaria. Studied at the Berlin Akademie under Orlik. Worked two years on a Berlin newspaper, then freelanced to 1928. Art director for five years on the textile industry journal Deutsche Confection. 1933: emigrated to England, arriving ‘with no English, money or specimens’. From 1933: freelanced.
